The Jonathan Stout Trio
Jonathan Stout is a guitarist and bandleader specializing in the jazz of the Swing-era. Over the last 25 years, Jonathan’s various bands have headlined swing dances all over the world, and Jonathan has devoted himself to preserving the two pre-bop guitar traditions of his heros Charlie Christian and Allan Reuss. Original debuted at the Academedy of Music Theatre in Northampton, MA as part of Django in June, the trio format has proved to be the perfect concert showcase for both sides of Jonathan’s playing - the acoustic chord-melody style ala Reuss, and the electric single-note style ala Christian. Moreover, of all of Jonathan’s bands, the trio has proven to be the most music available from the least number of musicians.

Besides leading his own bands as headliners at Swing Dance events around the world, Jonathan has also played with the Bonebreak Syncopators (led by DJ Bonebrake of the band X), Michael Gamble and his Rhythm Serenaders, The Mint Julep Jazz Band, Josh Collazo’s Candy Jacket Jazz Band, Keenan McKenzie and the Riffers, Janet Klein, Carl Sonny Leyland, Enrique Pierdo (Spain), Dean Mora (Mora’s Modern Rhythmists, et. al), the Lucky Stars, and Natelie Hanna Mendoza and her Tiger Four.
